Grey and Ductile cast iron Knife Gate Valve

The knife gate valves up to DN 700, are built with a one-piece body that can be made of cast iron or stainless steel. The blade is made of 304 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish on both sides to guarantee a watertight seal with the gasket. The sides of the blade are rounded to avoid cutting the gasket. The gasket can be EPDM or NBR rubber, a strip of the gasket is greased to facilitate operation during opening and closing of the valve.

Knife gate valves are easily replaceable as they are located in an area that can be reached without having to dismantle the valve from the line. The shaft is made of stainless steel with the thread rolled up. All parts are protected from corrosion by epoxy paint.

Grey and Ductile cast iron Knife Gate Valves

Knife gate valves can be mounted horizontally or vertically. They can be unidirectional or bidirectional. The unidirectional knife gate valves have pads that support the blade and allow it to work with a back pressure of 30% of the maximum working pressure. The unidirectional knife gate valves have pads that support the blade and allow it to work with a back pressure of 30% of the maximum working pressure. The bidirectional knife gate valves can receive pressure from both directions. When assembling these valves, it is necessary to remember to hold them tightly in the gland between the flanges. The knife gate valve provides full flow to provide high flow rates and minimal pressure drop.

This implies that in the open position it does not produce cavitations and there are no turbulences in the fluid. The knife gate valves are suitable for the passage of fluids or powders such as drinking water, waste water, other inert fluids. They can be used for water treatment, in the chemical and cellulose industries. The inside of our valve is designed to prevent the accumulation of solids and is conical in shape so when closed the solid residues inside are easily released. In standard version they are supplied with a handwheel but can be operated on request with pneumatic or electric actuator.
